Eco Deodorant by Every Man Jack
There are a lot of people going green these days. Who doesn’t like to get good mileage and know that their food is pesticide free? But a lot of us draw the line at our deodorant. There have been theories circulating on the Internet that the aluminum in antiperspirants may cause cancer or have other negative effects on our health. This has yet to be proven in clinical trials however. Here’s what WebMD had to say on the matter:
experts say the claims don’t hold up to scrutiny. “There is no convincing evidence that antiperspirant or deodorant use increases cancer risk,” Ted S. Gansler, MD, MBA, director of medical content for the American Cancer Society
Still, for those of us that want to limit the amount of unnecessary chemicals our body absorbs, it would be nice if there was a good eco alternative. While I’ve tried my share of green antiperspirants, by far and away my favorite is Every Man Jack (Citrus). It won’t stop up your pores like an antiperspirant will, but you shouldn’t find your fellow subway passengers sliding away from you either. If you would prefer people keep their distance, that’s a topic for a different discussion.
Maybe now would be a good time to give one of the eco deodorants a try. Because once the mercury starts to rise in the summer, I’m guessing that antiperspirant you’ve been using for the last decade will be looking pretty good.
